Overhangs and bridges

Every overhang and thus every bridge construction must be secured with a corresponding counterweight (here in the picture built of red blocks), because otherwise unsupported sections can easily tip over and collapse.

TIP: In many cases, a temporarily installed counterweight can be removed at a later time, because the completed construction can now autonomously support the weight of the unsupported section!
